We are not sure of so many things in life but one thing we can all agree upon is that FAILURE IS NEVER A NICE FEELING TO EXPERIENCE. Apart from being painful in itself, it brings with it more negative emotions like disappointment in oneself, feelings of sadness , worry, fear of more and worse failure, embarrassment, anger, feeling like a loser, depression and many more.
These feelings can all be tormenting and no one in their right mind would surely wish such torture upon themselves. But failing is part of life and in as much as we would love to avoid it, we also have to learn how to deal with it.
Failure is part of the process. You have to lose your fear of failing. People who never fail are those that never try. You have to fail, in fact you need to fail. You’ve got to get it wrong, to get it right. You learn nothing from winning, you only learn from your failures and that’s why you need to fail.
Failure analysis
Despite all the lessons we learn from our failures, it doesn’t change the fact that failure is always an unpleasant thing to have to deal with. It’s always like despite all the preparations we can make to handle our disappointment better, when it finally arrives, it still hits so bad and hurts so bad.
The feelings of inadequacy, hopelessness, anger, our best not being enough, disappointment in oneself are never as easy to deal with as we would expect.
But here’s the good news, Failure is temporary, it doesn’t mean you can’t make it nor does it mean you will never succeed or are weaker or inferior compared to those who succeed. It is not final- it doesn’t have to be.
You have to fail at something so many times that you become good at it.
Yes you may have been beaten but don’t stay on the ground too long. Don’t grieve forever or worse lose hope that you will ever make it in life. Failing is part of the process and it too, like all else, shall pass.
We must accept finite disappointment , but we must never lose infinite hope.
Martin Luther King Jr
Once you understand and accept that failure is part of life, and you have to fail to succeed, you won’t beat yourself up so much when you fail.
TRYING REALLY DOES COUNT FOR SOMETHING !
And one thing I realized is that sometimes people are really doing great or doing okay but because they haven’t really hit their goals or are comparing themselves to other people, that makes them to feel like failures in life. At such times i encourage people to remember that they are trying and giving life their best ( or at least they think they are ) and that counts for something.
Comparison is the thief of joy.
Theodore Roosevelt
The greatest test of courage is to bear defeat without losing hope.

OTHER PEOPLE’S EXPECTATIONS OF US
Sometimes not meeting other people’s expectations of us can cause us to feel like we have failed them, or even failed ourselves but it doesn’t have to be like that.
Robert Anthony said it best, “In life you will always be a failure in someone’s eyes, you may never get the approval you seek, you simply can’t please everyone so please yourself, accept your back ground and enjoy who you are.”
Maybe your boss shouted at you at work, or your superior told you you are not good enough and that has been putting you down. Usually it’s the negative remarks we get from the people we look up to, our superiors or even our loved ones that hurt the most- that make our failure even harder to deal with.
But always remember that the FACT THAT YOU ARE GIVING IT YOUR BEST- THAT COUNTS FOR SOMETHING.
And incase someone has failed, maybe your workmates or even people below you in the workspace, it may even be your children or siblings or friends give them a word of encouragement. The fact that they failed doesn’t mean you should scold them, failure in itself is hard enough an emotion to deal with – be supportive.
A word of encouragement during failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success.
